passionate about beautiful births

Nadine Richardson

About Me

I have been a yoga teacher and creator of community for almost 30 years. I have been holding women’s circles, mothers groups, special events, courses, gatherings and retreats for over 20 years.

I have been a celebrant, a birth and loss doula, childbirth and parenting educator and held many roles within the tender circle of women and family. None of these paths was ever really planned.

I have especially loved holding space for women as they traverse the transition from maiden to mother. There is an extraordinary amount of potential at this time for growth and positive change when the right knowledge and holding is in place.

I love that I have been able to help so many women and help restore the sacredness of birth.

All my work has only ever been about transformation with as much grace as possible. It is about fully meeting the growth process and harvesting our wisdom through challenging times. Offering a map and guidance along the way.

I look forward to sharing my first book with you very soon. The process of writing has been deep and powerful over this last year. It has been a personal harvesting of 20 years in the birth space and will be my legacy gift to families and birth workers.

There are more of exciting and innovative ideas and creations to share with you, when the time right. This coming decade is going to be a big one.

If you are inspired and choose to walk the journey of reclaiming your wisdom, wildness and authenticity across the transitions of life, then reach out and let’s walk some together.

New Book Coming soon

Discover how you can not only have a beautiful birth but also traverse the radical changes from maiden to mother and weave your way to a life of embodied feminine wisdom.

I would love to share more with you from my soon to be released book.

She is the culmination of my ‘work’ so far and an invitation to unify so that we can change the way we birth and support women.

"I started going to Nadine's pre natal yoga classes about one month ago. After practicing yoga on and off for the past 10 years and having tried many types of yoga and learnt from many teachers, Nadine has to be one of the very best. She has a soothing, nurturing, energizing and positive demeanor and her classes are a wonderful balance of meditative relaxation and focus and physical opening. I feel fantastic after every single class and could not recommend her highly enough as a teacher."

"I have had the privilege of practising yoga at Dharma Shala at both pre-natal and general levels through three pregnancies.

In my latter two pregancies i had the pleasure of being taught by Nadine, who is a great teacher and human being. Nadine brings a natural warmth & openess to the yoga space, coupled with years of experience working with pregnant woman in a variety of settings.Nadine also possesses what I consider the most critical in a pre-natal yoga teacher -her own experiences of pregnancy and birthing. i have thoroughly enjoyed working with Nadine over the last few years and feel blessed to have had such a great yoga teacher and yoga space."

"I think because nadine had been a doula for years and a childbirth educator makes her classes unique. She knows exactly what positions work well for labour and what parts of our bodies need to be prepared and limbered up. She has a wholistic approach.Aside from that she exudes nurturing energy and her classes are deep working and grounding. I have been to a few other prenatal classes and there is a feeling of keeping everything overly light in fear of the pregnant body. They are almost too gentle and you feel like you have done very little -but after Nadine's class you feel very well stretched out with a deep calm. Beautiful stuff."

She manages to create a beautiful ambiance condusive to serious practice as well as being nurturing and supportive of us, her students. Intuitive, gentle and experienced. I love going to Nadine's class with my son who is now 10 months old. We started going when he was 3 months old and at every stage of his growing Nadine has known how to respond to both of us. She guides us gently and expertly through each class. It is a soothing, nurturing and restorative practice for me and it provides a secure, loving and curious space for my baby.

Nadine’s classes are based in a hatha tradition but her classes always seem to be different as she senses the energy of the room, the individuals and their bodies and what is needed from day to day.

You feel that her own practice is constantly evolving, exploring and deepening and she shares her learnings as teachings in a clear, focused, down to earth way, whilst at the same time offering deep and sincere spiritual lessons and observations and an invitation to explore personal exploration as and when the student is ready.

Her workshops and retreat have provided a safe space for introspection, observation, but also play, exploration and creativity. They felt like a holistic workshop for the mind body and soul – a safe space to be who you truly felt to be in each moment, and the opportunity also to see and be seen within the safe space created by the group.

There is always a sense of fun with Nadine, non judgement, respect and the sense that anything is possible but everything is ok as it is.

As a result i felt my practice deepen. I felt like I had allowed myself to let go of some hardnesses I had built in from some difficult months, and I went home feeling lighter yet fuller emotionally, fed in my body and my heart and mind, and also strong to deal with the rigours of my daily life
